There's a big hubub over at ar15.com over these barrels. Apparently they are CHF chrome lined from a Remington military contract overrun. Think Colt or FN for way cheaper.

I think you can do better than that Anderson in the price range. Plus I just hate railed gas blocks.

    Is this a 16" or 14.5" barrel?

If 14.5", wouldn't I have to build it as a pistol?

    No, 14.5 with a pin/welded suppressor is a rifle.

New plan possibly...buy a rifle kit and put all of the un-needed lower parts into my pistol build.

$349 and IN STOCK with BCG/charging handle.

If all you want is the basic, M4 style carbine, that's a fair price still.
Adding up the parts in my head using pricing I'm accustomed to seeing before the surge in buying, I come up with roughly that total give it take $15/$20

You start to waste money when you PAY for all the parts, but then you start replacing them with upgraded parts.
For that reason, building from scratch may be a better option - it just depends on what you plan to do.

    Edit: out of stock.
They DO notify you if you sign up to be notified when in stock.
I honestly think they use those requests as a barometer to decide what they should prioritize when reordering/assembling.

Yes, said in stock, clicked add to cart and was out of stock.

This is my first AR, just building this with basic parts as a range toy mainly, and to learn how to put one together. Pistol will be build as more of a home defense tool.

I've been picking up parts when they're on big sales for about 2 years now. Just started putting everything together. I've saved a lot of money already taking my time.

The only thing I might upgrade later on this one is the trigger.

In cart, what do you think of this setup?

Been checking PSA daily for weeks, waiting for stock to be replenished. Might still wait on them...

    Charging handles are routinely $10-$15
That's too high for a parkerized BCG - I just bought a NITRIDE BCG with crane extractor O-ring (O-ring versions typically add $10 over one w/o it) for $79 shipped free.

That upper seems a tad high, but I can't see the specs.
That quick detach carry handle... I question it's quality. CDNN often adds "extras" that aren't all that "valuable".
