York Fair new security policy
Just received from the York Fair...they're using metal detectors now for concerts.

A message from (York Fair):
Dear Concert Ticket Holder:
New this year we have implemented new security screening procedures. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the process as outlined below so that your entry into the Grandstand will be as smooth as possible.
NEW SECURITY SCREENING PROCEDURES AND GRANDSTAND ENTRANCES AT THE YORK FAIR
The York Fair and Expo Center is committed to creating a safe experience for all guests. Security screening will now be in place for all Grandstand concerts and events effective September 6, 2019.
Prior to entry into the venue, all guests and permissible items will be subject to a physical screening and inspection. Prohibited items discovered during our screening process will not be allowed inside the venue.
The York Fair and Expo Center has implemented the use of walk-through and handheld magnetometers for all guests upon entry. We recommend that guests arrive at least 45 minutes prior to event start time and bring only essential items into the venue.
By presenting your ticket and entering our venue you consent to such screenings. Persons who refuse screening will be denied entry into our venues. These protective measures have been put in place to ensure that each performance or experience is occurring in a safe environment for our guests.
SCREENING PROCEDURE
Please arrive 45 minutes to 1 hour before show time to ensure adequate time for entry.
Guests will present their ticket for scanning and proceed to the screening area.
“ALL PERSONS, BAGS, and PACKAGES ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH”
Guests will be asked to remove items from their pockets before entering the walkthrough metal detectors.
Individuals who are unable to use the walkthrough detectors will have the option to be screened with a handheld metal detecting wand.
All bags and other permitted items will also be checked by our screening staff.
The following is a summary of items not permitted in the venue:
PROHIBITED ITEM SUMMARY:
NO WEAPONS NO GLASS NO LARGE BAGS OR COOLERS NO UMBRELLAS, TRIPODS, OR SELFIE STICKS NO ILLEGAL ITEMS OR SUBSTANCES NO LIQUIDS EXCEPT: (New, never opened plastic water or soft drink bottles)
Once inside the venue, you may not leave and return.
Thank you for your cooperation as we implement these new, important safety and security procedures. For any additional questions, or more information visit www.yorkfair.org and read the “Safety and Security” section under the “Guest Info” tab.
Sincerely,
Bryan Blair

Re: York Fair new security policy
There are already gang issues and have been plenty of beatdowns/shootings/crimes right at their gates. So...disarm everyone!
I never go there without carrying. West York is a $#!%hole. I'll still carry at the fair itself but if I take the family to a concert, I have to cross my fingers and hope the thugs are in a good mood that night I guess.Galations 6:9...And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Personally, I'm glad the PA Jeeps All Breeds Jeep Show is moving to the Carlisle FG next year. Too many jamokes in West York and near the York FG.

The last time I went to the York Fair was to see The Fixx.
