Need tourist advice for Lancaster 9/7/2017
My dad and his wife are coming into town so we are meeting in Lancaster for the afternoon of 9/7/2017.
I need advice on what to do and where to eat. My dad is a recovered alcoholic so no breweries or distillery recommendations please.
We'll be there between 2PM and 8PM. 4 adults, no kids, museums or hiking trails good! Weather Underground has chance of precipitation at 0 percent.
Thanks in advance.

Over there is a cow. Over there is a pig. And there is some grass, over there.
I know I'm no help

If you could get there a little earlier, you could take a ride on the Strasburg Railroad's steam train. The Railroad Museum of PA is there too.

I wish I could help. Lived here my whole life and it may sound strange but nothing interesting comes to mind. Because I've been there and done that nothing stands out.

Chiques Rock, north of Columbia has some good hiking. There's a few covered bridges to visit. All kinds of smorgasbords up the new holland way (bird in hand, plain and fancy, millers, etc.). There's a great farmers market in downtown Lancaster, as well as a AA of AAA team (afternoon game?). Antiques galore, there's a watch and clock museum in Columbia too (really pretty cool). There's a few life of the Amish type places towards Strasburg, and at least three good gun shops in the county!

Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Is it anyones birthday? The Shady Maple smorgasboard in New Holland gives free meals on your birthday. If you shoot, the Sportsmans Shop and range is only about half mile up the road from the buffet.
Some of the other suggestions are also good. Without knowing more, there you are.Illegitimus non carborundum est

Aren't there lots of tours, like pretzel factories and Amish C-ring shops?
