OC'ed in AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union
notes:
- I live in Alaska
- The gun laws regarding carry in banks and credit unions were repealed a long time ago
- open carry
I called the member services earlier this morning. Upon getting someone in management who told me I couldn't have a gun in the institution, she asked me if I'd like to speak with the security officer at the main branch. I was put on hold while she contacted the person. I thought I was going to be able to speak with the security officer, but she picked up the call again off hold and said I could carry a gun if I felt I needed to carry one. Wow, wasn't that a big change in response! I'm thinking she talked directly to the security officer, hehe... At least she talked normal and not angry.
I went to the branch where I live, to deposit checks and withdraw money from my account. I swear my heart almost burst out of my chest it was beating so hard. All the tellers saw the gun as the line is right smack dab in the middle of the room. I held my checks and went up to the teller, did my business, then left.
There was no silent alarm pressed far as I know, no 3-4 cop cars in the parking lot waiting for a geek with a gun, or sirens etc...

Yea i wasn't even trying to be an ass that time, I thought it was a pretty clever discovery myself... I don't mind hearing other states laws in all honesty, esp. alaska because i could see myself going there someday.
