Re: hunting with a semi auto
I doubt it.
It's still a semi-auto, you're just doing something to limit its capability.
Kinda like putting one round in the magazine of an AR. Only one round, but it's still a semi-auto firearm.
Just my opinion - I was wrong once before though!
How do you like that commie piece of crap?
Just kiddin'!!! I REALY like mine! (Yugo)
It's my first, but it won't be my last.

Re: hunting with a semi auto
I think you can hunt with it legaly IF you make the gas block permanent, as in welded so it can't be restored to semi-auto. Please don't take my word as official, check with someone who actually knows the details of the current laws.
I knew two people who hunted with M-1 Carbines that had a plug welded into the gas port to make it non-functional. (This was many years ago when those guns were a lot more plentiful and a lot less expensive). One of them had a slit cut in the underside of the forestock with a nice hand made handle attached to the piston to make it a pump action rifle. It was actually a pretty sweet little gun.

i'd imagine if it were welded, then you could use it. call your regional pgc office and ask them.

I picked up a pump AK a few years back. Pretty neat gun. It even has a spring to assist in the forward portion of the pump.

I would'nt use it the regulation states that it has to be manually operated, but you might run into a game commission officer with a bug up his a$$ that day and he'll find a way to fine the crap out of you. Trust me I speak from experience!!!!!

Its a shame... Guess there is no way to go out with my 10/22 then. I can understand if they said sure, but you have to have a limited magazine, as with a semi shotgun.
