Gauging interest in a York pot-luck meet and greet at a range
I want to gauge interest before posting something in the events section. What about a meet and greet with pot-luck dinner at a range. Everyone could bring a dish. We set aside blocks of time for groups to use the range (A group for 15 minutes, then B group for 15 minutes, etc.). Attendees could get to meet other members and try out different firearms if they wanted (and the other member/firearm owner agreed). If you're not shooting, you're eating (my two favorite pastimes).
I know some people aren't fond of it but West York has the center area that is fairly open where tables and chairs could be setup for the food. They have six lanes so probably about 20 people would be the limit.
Let me know what you think. If the interest is there ill talk to them and see what would be needed to set it up.

Re: Gauging interest in a York pot-luck meet and greet at a range
I'm interested.
If you haven't already, check with the range as to their rules on guests. It's very common for ranges to limit the number of non-members to something like 1 or 2. If that's not an issue then this sounds doable.
Set a date far enough out for folks to clear their schedules and make plans, and also to get the word out. Seems every time we do this there are about a dozen who would have attended if they only knew. Of course, some of those same folks aren't on here very often either. While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I might be able to make the drive over depending upon when it is.

Re: Gauging interest in a York pot-luck meet and greet at a range
I would like to attend and meet/catch up with some other PAFOAers. However....I wouldn't be able to come unless it was sometime in Sept. We are away every weekend or I'm shooting in a match most weekends till sometime in Sept.
Will watch the thread and hope it works out to come.

I would definitely love to attend. But my work schedule is made usually a month in advance. So if at all possible, planning a little farther out so myself and others might be able to set aside time for this would be greatly appreciated.

I'll attend if scheduling allows. Sounds like a great idea!
