supressors in Montco
I'm interested in purchasing a suppressor. I would like to talk to anyone who has done the same in Montgomery County so that I can get an idea of where they went to get the paperwork done and any advice that they might have to offer.
Thanks all in advance!!

Re: supressors in Montco
I hear Montco is a PITA to have LEO signoff. I've never done it since moving to Montco, as I went the way of the trust.
I know some will recommend having an attorney set up the trust, but from all of my research I've never seen the ATF overturn a trust.
I don't want to get into a huge debate...if you are alright with spending $650 to have an attorney set up your trust...go for it. For me, I did my own trust and am waiting on my second NFA item via my trust.

Go to the Sheriff's office at the courthouse. Drop off the form. Get a call back from the deputy in about 2 weeks and pick up your form. Yes, very hard indeed in Montco.

Insite firearms is like 10 mins from the courthouse. They sell a decent amount of suppressors and serve the law enforcement community as well. I'm sure they can help you out, some of them are former Leo as well

Re: supressors in Montco
Insite firearms does do all the class 3 transfers, but in addition to the $200 stamp, what do they charge for filing the paper work. I have been wanting to do an SBR but someone told me they charge like $250 above and beyond the cost of the tax stamp. anyone have any experience with them?

Re: supressors in Montco
Two ways you can do this:
1. Build a pistol and manufacture your own SBR when your tax stamp arrives.
2. Buy a SBR and transfer it to Insite who will then transfer it to you after your tax comes in.
Most folks opt for Option 1.
I don't think Insite Charges more than $100 for a NFA transfer. Call them up...they're good people. My feedback thread: http://forum.pafoa.org/feedback-109/219616-rxm.html
