Won't Be Hitting the Rifle Range
The past two days I've been involved with the water rescues and evacuations in our area. Well I haven't had much time to think about it, but last night I realized I can't get to the sportsmans club. There's only one road in and well.... have a look.
This is looking north on Rt. 87
This is looking south.
I just bought an Aimpoint PRO, that I wanted to get up and running once it got here. Now I'll either have to try to get out to a buddys place to do it or wait several months. I still have yet to shoot my newest rifle as well.
I know we got hit by the least of this mess. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton/Hershey I think are worse off. This is only the tip of the iceberg in damage. There was a good restaurant next to the creek (yes, this was just a creek a few days ago), but now it is gone. Its a shame because new owners had taken over and really made it into a nice place within the past year.
Always be thankful for what you have at that moment. Now someone go shoot for me."Unus ut caput capitis"

I don't see what your problem is, that looks like a typical PA road.

This damage is crazy. Damned glad I live on a hill. Unfortunately, Irene screwed over my vacation to the outer banks... But thats small potatoes comparitively speaking.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

Re: Won't Be Hitting the Rifle Range
The Scranton area hasn't been fazed by the flooding at all. Wilkes-Barre and the surrounding areas are kind of screwed, though. I live in a flood zone, but it would have to rain for at least another week straight, of heavy rain, before we even got a dribble in our basement. It makes me feel bad for the people I've been seeing on TV, and I'm not the most empathetic person in the world.

I feel nothing for the people who decide to stay after we ask them to leave... then an hour later call for us to come save their wet asses.
But yes... I do feel for the people that make the right decisions but still lose.
A co-worker of mine lives on the road that use to run along side the creek. His house his fine amazingly. He can now go fishing off his front porch."Unus ut caput capitis"

You can't see the club from this pic. It's still up around the bend. My guess is the club is ok, but I haven't heard anything (or seen anything) referring to it.
There are no other roads that run parallel with this one to the north. It was be a long ass drive to go around and even then.... those are flooded."Unus ut caput capitis"
