Raven MP- 25
I inherited the gun; its what my pap called his "protection gun". Its not what I'd use for protection, but it's a nice looking little gun.
So it has sentimental value, and I'd like to get it working. It will fire one at a time, but the gun jams, failure to extract. If anyone knows how to fix, I'd be quite happy to get it working again.
Or a gunsmith in the fayette-co area which is trustworthy and not too expensive.

Re: Raven MP- 25
Clean the living snot out of it. You will need to disassemble it. Make sure gun is empty, then push in the thingy in the back of the slide, then lift upwards on the back of the slide. The slide will then travel forward past the muzzle of the gun and come off. Beware, the recoil spring will have tension to it.
Clean it good..
Those guns were notorious for such failure-to-eject and failure-to-feed solely due to it's cleanliness.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515, SteveWag

raven 25, stovepipes, fte, ftf? sounds like factory specs to me. put it in the safe and never touch it again.
if you take it to a gunsmith to have it fixed, which it probably wont be 100 percent fixed, you will end up spending more than the gun is worth

Re: Raven MP- 25
It sounds much like the one I owned many years ago. It now resides in the swamps of the Everglades. I'm doubting it can be "fixed" as we understand fixed to be. It was junk the day it was made and will be so forever more. But yeah, clean it well and let it be what it is, a part of your family history.

There may be enough tuning and troubleshooting tips for you to WECSOG it up and running. We can't all be big-shits shooting Kimbers and Colts.

Mine runs great, but I haven't pulled the trigger on it in years.

Do you know a good hand surgeon? Befriend one, you may need him.
Unlike the Hi Points, these guns ARE as shitty as 'they' say.
Typical Saturday Night Special, FTF, FTE, FTST (failure to stay together).
The truly amazing thing is that according to CDC, the lowly Raven MP-25 was the firearm used in a majority of the fatal shooting for almost 16 years. IIRC, they were used in 35% of the fatal shootings from the early 70s until the late 80s."...a REPUBLIC, if you can keep it."

Re: Raven MP- 25
few quick things you can do if you are handy with tools to get it up and going.
first do a dissassembly and give it a good cleaning.
take the empty magazine and push the follower down. look for either weakness in the spring or areas where the follower is sticking. If its just sticking then soak the empty magazine in some mineral spirits for a day or two.
Allow it to air dry then run a large patch down the magazine to clean out any debris.
As far as the failure to extract this will require the following parts:
Extractor
Extractor Spring
Extractor Spring retaining pin.
If the magazine spring is at fault you can replace that as well. Or get another magazine.
The folks at Numrich should have most of the parts. Click this link for the schematic and the parts prices.
