Re: AR-15 Front Sight Pin Removal?
I measure both sides of the pin. If they are tapered you can tell which way they go.
If penetrating oil doesn't work I hit the holes with a propane torch and that typically loosens them up. Heat expands holes.

You might want to try talking to Sean over at Lowe's Certified Guns in Sellersville to see if he can give you a hand. I know he lurks around on these forums once or twice a week, but here's his email just in case.

Re: AR-15 Front Sight Pin Removal?
I had the EXACT same problem:

Tried everything that was recommended, but ended up sending it back since I also found some flaws in the barrel itself. Contact the seller, get an RMA and get a replacement or contact the manufacturer directly. Mine was a DPMS barrel and DPMS re-sent me a new one with pins partially knocked out.
