Another incident where negligent is misspelled.

Acoording to the comments, she dropped it and tried to catch it. Gun went off and grazed her stomach. Maybe she was unholstering to check the firearm prior to entering the cage?

I'm sure the surveillance footage would be revealing.

Never catch a falling gun! They are drop safe for a reason. Especially a service pistol who cares about any marks on the finish.

Re: Berks County deputy sheriff wounded in accidental shooting
Is dropping a gun negligent or accidental? Wouldn’t that depend on how it was being handled prior to the drop? If they were practicing their cowboy twirling with a loaded gun, I’d say negligence but if it was a muscle spasm or nerve impulse that caused an otherwise normal disarming to become an incident, than I think accident is proper. Trying to catch a fumbled object is a natural reaction. Does anybody practice just letting guns hit the floor? If you want to over come nature you have to practice. The whole finger off the trigger is an example.
