Ranges near Franklin/Oil City
Hey all,
The only ranges I could think of that are fairly close are the Izaak Waltons, the range on polk cut off ( I believe its the sandycreek conservancy), and the Rainbow sportsman club. Are there any that I missed and also are there any around that just do a pay per use and dont require a membership? Thanks

Oil City Ikes has a 'range pass' if you don't want to be a full member. OC Ikes also has shoots/matches for rifle, shotgun and handgun that are open to the public. You don't have to be a member to attend those.
Coon and Fox has a range. So does the Bucktails.

Bucktail Road. Behind the State Police Barracks. I haven't been at the Bucktails for years. As I recall, there was a trap range, an indoor range, and an outdoor range with a backstop. I think they used it for both handguns and rifles.
Again, it's been years, so I have no idea what shape anything is in..

Mercer is not terribly out of the way, 30 miles and you have Western Reserve which I like ALOT and Pardoe which has an indoor range open 24/7 among other things which many other ranges do not offer.

Re: Ranges near Franklin/Oil City
I belong to the Sandycreek conservancy and there are no range fees. To use the facilities you have to be a member or with a member. The reason for that is some people sneak in to the range and shoot up the target stands and they have to be replaced by the members and paid for by the members. All are welcome but the club has bills to pay.

I'm a member too. And it is a shame, I was there once, and some people came down on foot since the gate was closed. We didn't know it because we were pasting tagets, and they started shooting. Tell you one thing, I bet they could have heard me in Barkeyville lol.
We will have to meet up there some time to go shooting. Good meeting like minded people.I'm so fast, I can bump fire a bolt action.
