CCP & Pawn Shops?

I've got a buddy that needed $100 for 2 days. He went to pawn one of his 1911's worth around $1000. When he returned in 2 days if he had not had a CCP by Georgia he would have to pass a background check. That's dam sneaky, they should inform you before you pawn it of having a CCP or pass a BG CHECK To get your firearm back. That's dam sneaky the pawn did not mention that because if he could not have passed , the check they would have gotten the pistol for. $100..motive to lie or not inform him? Does your state do this? It was news to me but I have never pawned a firearm or anything else. SNEAKY... But everyone I realize why, they do it. but still they shoud have informed him first.

My memory is a little fuzzy, but I seem to remember being in a pawn shop in Harrisburg back in the middle 1970's. I remember that I was looking at the jewelry because I was wanting to get a ring for myself with a knight or Trojan soldier carved in the stone. It would have been down where the old bus station was, but that whole area was demolished to build Strawberry Square.
