Exclamation Secure your guns and other assets

    http://www.wsmv.com/story/24486036/2...cash-from-home

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) - More than $20,000 worth of guns, gold and cash has been stolen from the home of a local attorney and former school board member in the Blackman community.

The burglars tip-toed their way through the house, according to police, picking and choosing which guns to take and not to take.

Just ran across this one: http://www.komonews.com/news/crime/A...240169911.html

This is what happens when you don't take steps to protect you assets.

The victim noticed the gun were missing Thursday [Jan 16] but believes they were stolen sometime from mid-December to mid-January. No evidence of break in sounds strange; someone must have had knowledge of lack of any home security.

Should have taken some of that money and invested in a decent safe at the least.

Where was he for a whole month? I smell a rat or maybe his wife is pissed at him and getting ready for divorce.

Agreed. Sounds like an inside job. Wife, relative, "friend", etc.

Wow!! Aren't unfortunate boating accidents easier stories to stick to?

I agree both stories sound like inside jobs. I think there may be reasons why the "victim" doesn't want someone (i.e. wife in divorce) to get their hands on valuables.

I would know if anything was tampered with within the day.

    Sounds very odd...

    Insurance fraud?

Give a "friend" some guns, jewelry, etc to sell for you and he takes a cut. Then claim the loss against your insurance.

^^^Just an FYI for the patrons of State Farm Insurance; you may want to buy an additional insurance policy for firearms. They are not necessarily covered under home owners insurance....
