Default DE CCW: Are you an attorney in DE?

If you are an attorney in DE familiar with the following please send me a PM. I have a couple of questions.

    Jason

    http://courts.delaware.gov/courts/su...t/?weapons.htm

    (j) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code to the contrary,
the State of Delaware shall give full faith and credit and shall
otherwise honor and give full force and effect to all licenses/permits
issued to the citizens of other states where those issuing states also
give full faith and credit and otherwise honor the licenses issued by
the State of Delaware pursuant to this section and where those
licenses/permits are issued by authority pursuant to state law and
which afford a reasonably similar degree of protection as is provided
    by licensure in Delaware.

What Jason is on about is the fact that DE's Attorney General, being Joe Biden's son, has apparently decided to not honor FL and UT non-resident permits any more.

I'd appreciate some clarification on this from anyone with a reputable, quotable source of information.

If it is true it will be a bummer. There are some folks following up, I just lack any legal contacts in DE familiar with firearms law.

It's better to be safe than sorry. I will not carry in DE until I have a clear indication that my FL & UT permits are tuly recognized. It would be optimal is DE would just recognize a PA permit but the "lack of training mandate" is a reason for the DE AG to not offer recognition.

And I am in no way a fan of training mandates for LTC/CCW licenses.

Yes...that would be great. I still find it amazing...PA accepts VA, VA accepts PA. VA accepts DE and DE accepts VA. But DE doesnt accept PA?

Does PA not accept DE because DE doesnt accept PA?

Where exactly did this information come from? My understanding is both FL and UT have and will continue to be accepted as OK. DE makes no distinction between resident or non resident licenses except for trying to obtain a DE CCDW. Nothing written anywhere on the AG's site about non resident permits.

Biden isn't even in town and we have an acting AG in his absence. I also haven't heard anything about any changes in reciprocity with any states for over a year.(before Biden became AG)

Good luck finding a DE lawyer willing to give out free information. We almost had a couple join the DE OC forum but they backed out and never joined. Seems most of the lawyers here aren't up on handgun laws and none that specialize in this area. Even had one asking us if it was OK for him to carry to work and the court house. We explained to him the first is up to his employer and the latter is a big fat NO. You'd think they would know or be able to find out this information without asking a bunch of non legal 'gun nuts'.

I didn't ask for free information. I am a firm believer in that you get what you pay for.

But before I pay, I need to know that the attorney I engage is someone versed in firearms law.

    Jason

you did answer the more improtant question, so I will repeat it

where did you hear or read that they were no longer excepting Florida or Utah permits.

    Steve answered you question

a quick check of the De attorney generals sites clearly shows delaware excepts a Florida & Utah permits

Please point me to the statute that prohibits the carrying of a gun in a courthouse in the State of Delaware. Might look through a shall issue permit gun bill that was not passed for some interesting reading to inform your research as to where to find the statute prohibiting carry a gun in a courthouse. And if you are trying to convince me a courthouse is a detention facility, point me to a case that says that.

last part retracted until I can get clarification

The above is not legal advice and is for discussion purposes only. Do not rely on anything posted. If you have a legal question, retain a lawyer.
