Cleaning mops?
At what point in the cleaning process does one use these?
I've never seen them before and they came with the new cleaning kit I just bought.

Re: Cleaning mops?
The mop is reusable, the patches aren't. The mop is shaped correctly for the bore, the patches aren't. That said, there's no reason you can't use a patch to apply the solvent. The mop is just easier. Though, people will tell you that the mop will eventually (quickly?) become filthy -- an argument similarly applied to bore snakes. Just like we wouldn't use a dirty mop to clean a floor with, we don't want to use a dirty mop to clean the gun with. With all things, there are tradeoffs.
Of course, it's worth noting that when you do your post-clean bore oiling (if you do), that would be the right place to use a clean-but-oily patch if you've been using the mop.
