free grand slam from like 0600 to 1400... saw the ad during the superbowl and thought it was a scam so i decided to call.... going to the one in altoona and leaving at 0500 with a couple of my friends...

There aren't anny denny's close enough to me in the quakertown area. I would have to drive down to warminster or up to allentown to go to one. My wife on the other hand is probably enjoying two eggs two peices of bacon and two pancakes right now as i type this. She took the drive.

I was going to but didn't. All my friends were all busy, and I am not one to goto a place like that by myself and eat. I'd feel out of place.

Denny's in my area has gone down hill badly in recent years. Now, I eat at the diner right next door to it, look out the window, and point and laugh.

I went by 1 today to see if it was swamped, and it was...the line was around the building so I kept going.

The wife & I tried to go... set the alarm to get up early, & when she was up & almost ready to go I rolled out of bed at 0 dark something or another & off we went on our 2 mile trek to free breakfast. I was still half asleep so I started driving the route I take everyday to work lol. Once we got to Denny's we saw the parking lot was full, as were the parking lots of the Jiffy Lube & the Pizza Hut next to Denny's. The line of people came out of the resturaunt and wrapped around the building. My wife had to be at work by 8 & has a half hour drive so we didn't think she could make it if we got in line and well, the plate of food just wouldn't have been worth all that hassle standing in that line in the cold dark morning unless it was being served on a solid platinum platter that we could take home with us after we ate.

A woman at work did go later on (about 8 or 8:30) She said a friend of hers waited in the line while the others took their school aged kids to school & then called her & the rest of their party to come out when she was almost inside. When my coworker & her youngest son got there their party was already seated & had their drinks... she walked in past the line to join her party & thought she was going to be attacked from all the dirty looks she got.

She told me they had security guards directing traffic and trying to keep the line orderly. Jiffy Lube was having a cow about the parking, and some teens started fighting in line & the Police had to be called to break it up.
Basically she said it was kaos!

Dang.
Wasn't that bad here, but we went at 6:30am figuring we could eat, then I'd go to work.

Lobby was full, and about 10 people standing outside, so we drove to Bob Evans instead.
Holy CRAP! $8.00 for a 3-egg omelette! It's been a while since I've eaten breakfast there. Omelettes will probably be $10 before I do it again.

Doesn't seem worth all the hassle with long waits in lines, chaotic crowds, parking problems and all for a free meal worth what... $6?

the dennys that i went to inly had like a 15 minute wait so between the 4 people i went with we took turns alternating in line and the car every 5.... food was good and free so i cant complain.... i used to go to the one in allentown by LV airport just for their chicken salad....
