    Default WalMart Semi-Encounter

I was in the Norristown WalMart about 2 hours ago. I was carrying a pistol in an IWB holster with a t-shirt tucked in, so it was halfway between OC and CC. I was in the electronics section buying batteries, and two employees came up to me. Only one employee said anything.

Employee: "Has anyone talked to you about that?" (Motioning to handgun.)

    Me: "No Sir."

Employee: "You're supposed to put your shirt over it to cover it up. You have to conceal it. Besides, some customers are getting scared."

Me: "You are not required to conceal in Pennsylvania. I am acting within State law and WalMart corporate policy."

    Employee: "What is WalMart policy?"

Me: "WalMart corporate policy is to abide by the law of the state that the store is located in. I'll discuss it further with a manager if need be."

Employee: "Yeah ok. I'll get a manager so he can talk to you. People are scared."

At this point I said OK and started walking away as I really didn't have time for this nonsense and I wanted to see what ammo was in stock. He asked me if I was heading over to that side of the store. I said yes and kept walking. I talked to three old-timers who were working the sporting good section, and as they were rearranging the ammo I left and checked out without incident.

I've never had an issue OCing in that WalMart before. It's very possible that due to the "ghetto" nature of the employees they felt the need to initiate a confrontation.

Good job on educating the walmart employees! It sounds like you handled it well. I did get a laugh out of this:
    Employee: "What is WalMart policy?"

or it may actually be that because some lunatic recently mowed down some people in public that the nation is in a state of panic.. and maybe someone did actually "alert" the staff..

    people hear "mass public shooting"
people see "you with half concealed gun"

panic possible? sure..right or wrong its possible..

Yes. Saggy pants, over-sized shirts, and an over-all disrespectful demeanor. If you go to the Norristown WalMart you will quickly see what I'm talking about.

Perhaps they felt the need to approach me due to the CO shooting. Protip: If you're going to argue state law and WalMart policy in an official capacity, know what the law and WalMart policy are.

I wish you talked to the manager there, but I understand you not wanting to waste your time educating the sheeple.
