    Default Hunters Supply cast bullets

I bought a box of these off of midway a few months ago to try. I've never used lead before. But im having a hard time finding load data for these. I assume the hard cast means you can push tham at jacketed bullet velocities? Im not trying to load nuclear rounds with them but im not trying to load .38 specials either. I'll probably use the unique i have sitting around as opposed to the 2400 i used for most of my .357 loads. Anyone have any exp with them? I'll be shooting them out of an old 3 screw blackhawk if that helps.

I would suggest loading them below 1200 fps, there is load data on the Allant site for loading cast bullets with Unique.

From my chrono sessions with a cheap chrono.. Lead will fly faster than the jacketed stuff when using the same amount of powder.

Find data for a cast bullet the same weight doesn't need to be the same manufacturer but try to find the same bullet profile if available.... Or us the jacket bullet data and start about 10/15% lower.. a Few grains lower to start.

    Code:
ID Make Caliber Model Barrel Spring GuideRod Bullet Manu Type Weight	Powder Weight	OAL	Avg	High Low	Std dev	Power Factor
    40	Glock	40S&W	G35	OEM	13#	Jager-Steel	Rogers	LFP	180	WST	3.7	1.12600	853.2	867.5	837.2	10.90	153.6
    41	Glock	40S&W	G35	OEM	13#	Jager-Steel	Frontier FMJ	180	WST	3.7	1.12600	753.5	775.2	713.1	17.54	135.6
The problem with shooting Chinese bullets is 15 minutes later you wanna shoot again.

Thanks! Im a little skeptical of alliant powders website due to their weird-o 45 acp load data but I'll check that out. and noted about 1200 fps, I guess I really should invest in a chronograph one of these days.
