Default Tribune Review Columnist's Anti-Gun Pieces

Mike Seate is a columnist for the Trib. This is the second piece he's written about concealed carry at Pitt. He's really getting on my nerves.

    My letter to him:

So this is the second anti-gun column I've read by you. I seem to remember your first was at least honest, but still lacking in facts. This one takes the cake. Your column to try and portray those who choose to carry a firearm to protect themselves and their families as irresponsible idiots is appalling. The one who is irresponsible is you. Those who have a LTCF are following the law. Look at the numbers for crimes committed by those people, it's infantesimally small. The complete fiction you present as a "day in the life" is so baseless as to be laughable, which I guess is a good substitute for someone who lacks the intelligence to actually make a rationale argument.

Here's the real day in the life of someone who carries a firearm:

Get up, get dressed, put on gun
    Go about daily business
Take off gun before bed, put in safe

But I guess that would make a much more mundane column than your alarmist drivel.

If it wasn't just the usual copy/paste from the Brady Bunch's website I'd actually be impressed at his imagination and work of outrageous fiction. But since its no different than I've heard before, I'll just yawn.

While your letter makes an extremely valid point, and I hate to be a killjoy, I have to say this: be careful insulting a columnist who writes for a living with a letter that has spelling/grammar errors. You're just giving him fodder to attack back, and furthering his stereotype that all "gun nuts" are uneducated, illiterate backwater hillbillies.

I completely agree with your point, though. Most CC'ers go about as uneventful a day as those who don't carry at all, and such a "revelation" will never be talked about in the MSM because it doesn't sell papers or ad time.

I know, I caught those two as I read my letter while making this post.

I don't know, after reading the column, the first thing in my mind was it and he was a piece of number two.

Yes, he's a smug son of a bitch.
I've seen several of his "writings" in which he makes fun of gun owners.

Every one that I've read has been just as childish as this one.

PisnNapalm is right, you will never be able to hold an intelligent conversation with such a bigot. Send the letter to the top dog.
