Marine Scout Snipers to Immortalize Their Legacy and History Through a New Memorial
rifle.gif
The Marine Scout Sniper War Memorial will look something like this: a bronze World War I observer, with an iconic brimmed helmet and a specialized Winchester rifle slung over his shoulder, points ahead. His hand rests on the shoulder of a Marine sniper with a high fade haircut, Oakley-style glasses and an M40A6 rifle, emblematic of those who served during the Global War on Terror.

One of them in the memorial should have been Carlos Hathcock.
Glad they're doing it though.

Re: Marine Scout Snipers to Immortalize Their Legacy and History Through a New Memori
I just posted this on my Second Reconnaissance Battalion FB page and the comments are all positive of the design. Even though the Marine has closed the Scout Sniper school. they will now train and be an integral part of the Recon platoons, Scout platoons in grunt company's and the newly formed Raider platoons. They will no longer be an independent unit, a mistake in my opinion, they were independent but often be temporally assigned to any unit needing their skills. I trained with them often, great bunch of guys
