Re: Wild hog hunting in PA?
I am not sure, From what I have been told there were only about a dozen or so that got out a few years ago. It seems that they are not really flurishing there, It's seems like there only maintaining their numbers. I mean, If they were booming in that area there would be more sightings around here. Like I said in an earlier post there was one shot this past buck season, I don't know where it was shot the guy that got it brought it in to the T-Bar and showed it off I seen pics of it thats the last I have heard anything.
Re: Wild hog hunting in PA?
Could it be that the pigs are sterile? That would certanily explain why ther're not reproducing.
Re: Wild hog hunting in PA?
I am wondering if locals/farmers in areas with some wild pigs are just knocking them off and eating/disposing of them quietly?
I think it is not likely that you are going to be finding these critters out in the game lands, but hanging out around farms where they can find more food.
just some thoughts

Re: Wild hog hunting in PA?
If you want to hunt wild hogs there are tons of them in Arkansas. I hear people always asking for hunters to kill them because they do so much damage and there are so many. Its just an idea.

How does one find these farmers? Most of us are in PA.
It is tough to plan a get away for a few days without knowing where one is going.
If you hear from a farmer, please send me a private message.
Re: Wild hog hunting in PA?
we have a few running around this area, they got out over 10 years ago, 1 farmer i have talked too said pa game commission came in this spring and took out 16 wild boars in 2 weeks, the area is around rome pa, thats all i would like to say, we saw 1 3 weeks ago about 175 -200 lbs. crossing a field to get to the corn field, and also saw 2 rams and a yew, guess afew things got out! we are going to get a boar but i think we are going to leave the rams alone!!!
Re: Wild hog hunting in PA?
The pa game commision says you can shoot as many wild hogs as you want. They say you can use any sporting weapon legal to hunt with in pennsylvania. Sorry auto loaders are out.
