My son’s redesigned AR
I built this AR for him some time ago. It’s one of my AMT 80% lowers. For years & years I used ONLY Spikes Tactical lowers until I started machining my own. Now I only use American Made Tactictical 80%’s.
Now I’m not a big fan of wood aside from AK’s and such. And certainly not on The AR style! But my son redesigned his original build with these parts. He went to a pencil barrel & slab side Upper. The rail is aluminum but he found these accents to match the wood A2 stock & grip. Again, not my cup o’ tea... but I have to admit my son did a tasteful job on this. It’s actually a handsome rifle, lol. He is quite fond of it. And in the end, that’s all that counts. But of all the wood clad AR’s I’ve seen, this is best by far.

I agree it is nicely done.

Change the optics out with something more low profile.

Re: My son redesigned AR
that is one of the best looking ar wood stocks i have seen.

Re: My son redesigned AR
What would be cooler is to inlay that wood on the barrel shroud.

Re: My son redesigned AR
He needs to turn a wood free floater fore grip, that’d be real classy. I’d dress my colt like that.

I love it! I'm a huge fan of wood on AR's, specifically the oiled walnut stocks, it reminds me of the old M-1's and other old original battle rifles. Here's one I did a few years ago with Lucid parts and a custom handle.
