Re: Open carry training memo for LEO dept's in PA [final draft]
anyway to have the OP thread edited with all the PD and etc. who this has been mailed to?
I'm going to send it out to the local PD around my area.
Re: Open carry training memo for LEO dept's in PA [final draft]
Just a reminder, but I emailed it to comments@udpd.org (Upper Darby Police). If you're planning on doing a formal letter, it can't hurt.
EDIT: Which PD's were you going to send it to?
Re: Open carry training memo for LEO dept's in PA [final draft]
I will be updating the list of depts son... problem is I've now exceeded the maximum # of characters allowed in the original post.. :)
I need to decide which of the following to do:
1) remove the quote of the entire memo from the OP and replace with the cover letter and a link to the doc as well as rich text versions of the doc.
That will leave plenty of room for updates.
2) Move the PD list to a new post and link to the post in the OP
Re: Open carry training memo for LEO dept's in PA [final draft]
one would be easier and you wouldn't have to deal with all the ?'s regarding the list of where the PD list is.
Re: Open carry training memo for LEO dept's in PA [final draft]
Rich, I am wondering. Have you gotten any replies, positive or negative, from the depts. you have sent this memo to?

We haven’t reached the point yet where the list of police entities that have not received the memo is shorter, have we? :p

Not yet. But here are some more already sitting in the mail for pickup today.

Chief Bruce D. Harris Borough of Cornwall Police17016
Chief Elwood Noll Heidelberg Township Police 17088
Chief Matthew J. Vernon Millcreek Township Police 17073
Chief Julian D. Weiant or Chief Daniel M. Erdman North Cornwall Township Police 17042 (I couldn't distinguish which one is currently the chief)
Chief Harold Easter North Lebanon Township Police 17046
Chief Kevin Snyder North Londonderry Township Police 17078
Chief Stanley J. Jasinski Palmyra Borough Police 17078
The training memos and cover letters for the rest of the municipalities in Lebanon, and Lehigh counties are just waiting to be folded, stuffed, stamped, and dropped off. Hopefully I will get that done tonight (like starting in 16 hours or so). After that I need to do the cover letters and make copies of the memo for all of the Sheriffs. Then I'll start looking at the various municipalities in each county. At that point I may slow down to one county per week or so.

Just a thought, since the letters are being sent out on a more or less county by county basis, a sticky in each of the county specific boards listing the departments in that county that have recieved the letter would make it easier for people to find if their local municipalities have recieved it, and the OP in this thread could simply include a link to the Regions section of the forum with a notice that each county's list is in that county's board.
