I have the same one and also the M&P40c I love them both. I carry the 40c everyday, I don't carry the full size just cause I have no holster for it yet but no matter the M&P is an excellent choice for whatever you use it for. Congratulations!
I've shot a few, liked them enough to buy one for myself last weekend. I'm going to give mine a good break-in(g) this weekend.
I havent had mine very long, but im happy with it. Havent shot it alot but seems well balanced and very accurate.
Im looking at the M&P 9mm now.
Only other pistol i have right now is a Walter P22. best little thing ive ever owned...
I have had this gun for several years and it has yet to give me one issue. It's miles above the Sigma series.
I ran 300 rounds through mine this morning. No major problems, only a few failures to lock back when empty. I haven't looked too far into what is causing that problem yet. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the gun, just needs a bit of work to become what I expect it to be. Sights, trigger work(just took care of that this evening), and some stippling.
For good information on your recent purchase, I would suggest you

"quirks" encountered by other owners and how problems were solved.
Congrats on your new handgun, I've always had a soft spot S&W. Now you have to pick up a S&W revolver, nothing like it (no offense to Ruger fans).
