Maybe a dumb question, but is there anywhere one can go and just practice this kind of thing? I already know I'm going to come in last if I enter, so I don't really want to throw $130 bucks at it quite yet, but I would love to see what this is all about. Seems like a really fantastic time.
Gr1mfire,
The Point Series is for those shooters looking to go to the next level. You don't need to join the Point Series to shoot the matches.
The point Series is limited to 75 shooters for the season. Our monthly matches can hold 120 plus shooters a match. We run 2 days, it's a one day match for the shooter with the ability based on signup order to select weather you want to shoot Saturday or Sunday.
The general match information is at the following link. 2019 Monthly Match Information
I hope this better explains and answers your question.
Is there a 2 gun division?
Happy Thanksgiving Hodgie,
We run 3 gun matches, I would ask, what 2 guns are you looking to run before I could truly answer your question?
But, The closest Division(s) I would say to a 2 gun definition could be either of the PCC divisions.
In a PCC division you would need at a minimum a PCC Carbine & a Shotgun and could technically shoot each stage without a pistol, but you would loose a lot of time.
The simple answer is no and the creative answer is you could. But if you are trying to get away from using a shotgun, then completely no.
All stages will require a shotgun, pistol and some rifle, even the memory stages in the short 25 yard bays.
"True Fun is Best Done with 3 Guns!"
A simple pump shotgun, basic semi-auto pistol and basic semi-auto type rifle or carbine is all you need to start learning and having fun.
But remember, the Point Series is for the next level competitor you don't have to register for the Point Series to shoot in the matches, just register for the matches at open registration.
Cheers
