OCT 3-4 CANCELLED
Just read that the fall show is officially cancelled.
That sucks , I don't make this one real often as it's on the far side for me anymore for a day trip but have been thinking of an over nighter , esp sonce I like that area. I notice folks canceling all kinds of stuff into Oct and Nov? Seems to be the in thing now.
We are about that time when venues require payments, marketing has to start, volunteers or employees lined up for the events so your seeing events cancel now which looks early but many of these events start planning months ahead. Promoters are having to make hard decisions on some possibly non-refundable down payments that I believe they are just not comfortable doing right now.
I do understand things take time to get set... as an example , there was a 1 day fair/event or whatever cancelled in May that was supposed take place in Oct *****and on the other side of the coin , the Morris VFD is still keeping options open and not cancelling their Labor day 3 day event Old Home Days until the 2 Thursday in Aug IF they decide they are going to at all. It just seems folks are quick to throw out the baby with the bath water during a time when they say they want to get whatever they can * and understandably so
Bump it up to spread the word about the Fall show cancellation . . .
Noah
Ain't that something.
Now , for some time I have been wondering something...*
I know there is relief money being handed out and while this probably does not apply to everyone....
One business in particular I was talking to **. doesn't do much business NORMALLY , but they have remained open through the years as it was a family thing and they own the place , etc , etc ** as I was told they are getting more $$$$$ in relief than they would be making if they had normal business hours and things were as normal.
I can't help but wonder if relief payments in SOME CASES , are the reason things are closed and/or cancelled?
Why work if you can make the money and not open ...*
I already know a few who got more in unemployment then they made working *. and some places their workers don't want to come back and other places can't find anyone *.. Slightly different topic but same concept I think.
I am not saying this applies to Roulette VFD , but would like to know who it does apply to *** I know of one business already *. whether or not the other places are making more than they would normally , I just never asked **.
Anyhow , still holding out for Bloomsburg *****
