Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
Good idea, I've just moved your thread and stickied it. If you want to re-word your original post now that it is the official thread edit away.
I found out about the PAFOA because well...I founded it.

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
I forget how i found the site. I am glad I found it.

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
This is a duplicate thread. I'm closing it.
;)
No, really, I'm relatively certain I've answered this before, but since it's stickied, let's just go with it.
I was doing a Google search for something gun related, and one of the hits had something about Greater Pittsburgh Gun Club being closed.
As I hadn't heard of it's closing, I was curious, so I clicked on the link and discovered it was being discussed on a forum... this forum.
I think I jotted down the web address on a piece of paper and vowed right then and there, that I would join that forum and become the biggest post-whoring, pain in the ass imaginable. How am I doing so far?
:D

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
I was still living in NYC when I found this site. I was researching PA gun laws, rights and LTCF's and what steps I had to take to purchase a gun and get a LTCF. Google sent me here to this site, I guess, because, I wanted information specific to PA. I found all the information I was looking for and then some, right here on this forum!
I lurked for about 2 1/2 months before I became a member. I bought my firearm shortly after moving here to PA, and one night I got up the nerve to sign up, and start a thread.
The rest is history!:)

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
Got my first handgun a year ago. Looking for info. Opencarry.org was pretty dead for DE until Sept. 07. Joined in, met a couple guys. One shoots in PA and provided a link. Lurked for the last 5 months until the OCB incedent.
Just here lending my support and trying to understand the law.
Ps- got my CCDW Sept.07, LTCF Nov.07, getting my Utah permit soon.Class in 2 weeks.:D

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
I was doing a Google search about LTCF's and how to get them when I found PAFOA. I lurked for about 4 months, then started posting when I had a certian question about loaded shotguns in a vehicle
*queue cheesy flashback-dream sequence*

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
Google of course, for info on getting a gun permit in PA. I've learned eons ever since. Like that permit I was looking for is called a LTCF and now resides in my wallet.

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
I Googled PA gun law forums because I had a question about carrying into an Allentown night club. PAFOA was at the top of the list and I didn't have any further to look. My question was answered by about a half dozen members on the same day.

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
Although memory fails me sometimes, I was thinking some guy posted on GlockTalk that there was a new gun related site specific to Pa. (Was that you danp or was it one of the early members?)
I didn't visit the site for a few weeks to a month and then joined.
I don't remember how many members there were when i joined but there weren't that many.
Glad to still be here.
Ya'll are a pretty good bunch to hang out with. (Ya'll because I'm from south of Pittsburgh :) ).
You've done well Dan. Great accomplishment.

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
When my brother was in his transition from "casual gun owner/shooter" to "full blown addict" he kept talking about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association. He asked if I wanted to go to a "group shoot" and I was totaly game. That was group shoot#1 and since then we've just been meeting up with you guys ever since.
I signed up for a screen name just to go to the shoots and never thought i'd post. My brother Mr. Joe Smith is an internet freak from way back and had always posted regularly. Then I got laid off for the winter and before you know it I have over 1000 posts.
By the way, while I wouldn't trade you guys for the world you're quite hard on the checbook. My wish list is in the thousands. But hey, if it wasn't for you guys I probably wouldn't have the good information I have today.

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
I came in from the notoriety of gnbrotz's "incident". I think I came in from Glocktalk. Nothing against those folks, but I have not gone back since. Good discussions over there. But here, I am with neighbors and friends that are dealing with the same things I see everyday. I have lived a bunch of places for a bunch of reasons, but Pa, ahhh PA, thats my home.
Be safe (in the Land of Liberty!)

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
I was stuck at home Jan. & Feb. this year due to having suffered a stroke. Spent lots of time learning to use my right hand again. I did lots of surfing. I was researching guns and wound up here. Lurked for a while then just jumped in. Have met a few members IRL. I'm really glad I found PAFOA!
Keith
PAFOA PROUD!

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
I was looking to make my first gun purchase in 20 years and my research brought me here to a Glock vs. everything else pissing match thread. I just got my LTCF and all I wanted was one gun that I could cc, but then I got sucked in. That was 14 months and 15 gun purchases ago. You guys have been hell on my wallet showing off your new toys so I had to go out and buy one too, but when the zombies come I can start taking them out at over a half mile away, and keep on shooting until they're 2 1/2" from my nose.

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
I came across the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association in March 2006 precisely the same time when my interest in firearms began. I browsed the forums for a few minutes and bookmarked the site for later use. Well, I totally forgot about it and finally went back a year later on March 16, 2007 and signed up as a member. I often think of all the fun I missed in 2006, and I too am really glad I found this site! :)

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
Well I recall doing a google search to find out what was going on with the Greater Pitt Gun club and finding the thread that was on here. I remember talking about it on here with some people in the know :) Amazingly with that being what lead me here I have not been back to GPGC since it's infamous reopening :)

Re: How did you hear about the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association?
One day way back when, Dan sent me a IM asking if was ok if he put a vB forum on my webserver. It went something like... "are you still in PA? you're into guns right?.. COOL!"
I hosted a few of dan's other projects at the time, so putting another site on the box was nothing. We've been friends on IRC for 10 years now.
We originally started up as pagoa.org, but when we tried to register at the PA dept of state, we discovered there was already a Pennsylvania gun owners Association.
After a bit of digging with the whois servers, I came up with pafoa.org (which .com and .net were also available) and we moved to that instead.
