Re: Ruger Kodiak Backpacker
I saw those, they are cute little guys. If you want a compact .44mag that can handle hot loads (if you dare) it is a good option. I have been hoping they would come out with a .44mag Toklat.
I have come close to buying .44special brass several times but never did. The revolvers are for .44mag and I can load mild .44mag loads and don't have to worry about scrubbing the ring of fouling out of the cylinder.

Nice. Never saw one. That and the bulldog are the opposite ends of the spectrum in build concept. Sort of smart car vs hummer. I like it a lot.

So, how does it handle? I'll bet the bear killer is a bear in the hands. I imagine it bucks a lot. Very nice looking gun.
Re: Ruger Kodiak Backpacker
fired one two weekends ago
snappy but fun
the grip looks and feels nice but was not ideal for me with hot loads
Re: Ruger Kodiak Backpacker
All I have fired are 900 fps 44 Special cast bullet loads, and it's not unpleasant at all. A 3" or 4" 357 Magnum is noticeably more harsh. All this will ever see are 44 Special loads.

Vey nice, clean lines and simple form still makes the perfect snub nose.. I would still have to see that 2.5" circle at 50 yds with my own eyes though.. LOL
