Polymer 80 glock end plate installation
I'm trying to put together a polymer80 Glock 19 i picked up from JSD.
I'm at the last step of the glock slide assembly where you push down the extractor spring and firing pin assembly to slide the end plate in. I have the end plate over both, but it wont slide forward all the way to snap into place. No matter how hard I push to get the end plate to snap into place and flush with the slide it wont go.
I tried taking out the extractor spring, leaving the firing pin assembly, to see if the end plate will completely go and it does.
Any suggestions what I can do or what the problem is?
Re: Polymer 80 glock end plate installation
Hmm. Is your channel liner installed all the way in? Make sure the extractor spring is installed in the correct direction - make sure the metal end of the extractor spring is pushing on the extractor, not the reverse.
Also check your firing pin safety plunger isn't binding. I don't think this would impact what you're trying to do here but it's definitely something to watch out for that the spring isn't all hung up in the hole.
Re: Polymer 80 glock end plate installation
When the firing pin assembly and extractor spring/rod is in, i cannot press down on the safety plunger, is that the way it should be?
Re: Polymer 80 glock end plate installation
Be sure to push down on the little plastic piece BELOW the firing pin catch (on the underside of the slide). Makes pushing the end plate in way easier.

Second this. And the channel liner Is seated fully.
Depending on your slide, the plate can be a bit tight to install.
Are you using a real OEM glock channel liner? The aftermarket ones are kinda junk. Make sure to clean up the little plastic nib leftover from the molding process and that you are installing it in the correct orientation.
If you are close, I have a channel liner tool you can borrow. Or if you want to pay the shipping to/from I can mail it to you

Im using the channel liner and plastic channel liner tool that came with the polymer 80 parts kit from JSD Supply. Are you close to Honesdale PA? Its in NE PA.

I’m south of Allentown, probably about an hour and a half from Honesdale. Didn’t realize JSD supplied a channel liner and tool for their kits.

I just tried pressing on the firing pin assembly sleeve under the slide while pushing the end plate, still wont go in. I think the issue is with the extractor spring/rod. When I take the extractor spring/rod out the end plate goes in fine.
