As of 08:30 3-17-20, PICS is down. Website and phone both are stating "Down due to technical difficulties." PSP stated on Instagram and Twitter yesterday that PICS would not be closing as would many other Commonwealth agencies.
PICS was extremely busy yesterday. Let us hope this is truly a tech issue and not something more nefarious.
A friend of mine who's an FFL in another state said there was a 40 minute wait for call in background checks.
Do Pennsylvanians go through both a pics and NICS check or just a pics check?
JNET is having issues also. So maybe it is across the board.

The PA State Police folks at PICS in Harrisburg gives the yay, nay, or delay instead of FBI personnel in West Virginia. Both means has pros and cons.

12:05. PICS is up. The PICS website had a statement earlier this morning that contrary to rumours, PICS is not going to be shut down. That this is merely a technical issue.
It's a volume issue. Just like post Sandy Hook. The system can't handle the surge of all the liberal pacifists buying guns.
Gun stores all along my way to work have had full parking lots all this morning.
It was up at 4:00 today.
