Tac-14 Concealed/Transport
Greetings- I've used the search engine but the newest results were years old. Can someone chime in on the legality of carrying the gun, be it concealed or in the car loaded and ready to go? I understand a LTCF is required to carry a loaded pistol and long guns cannot be transported loaded... but if Tac-14 is transferred as a pistol (or not a long gun) where does that put it as it pertains to a truck gun or conceal carry?
Re: Tac-14 Concealed/Transport
You should be good to go because the Tac14/Shockwave falls into the Pennsylvania definition of a "firearm". And you're able to carry a "firearm" loaded in a vehicle (with a LTCF). The fact that you fill out the PSP form when purchasing further solidifies this, IMO. The only issue you'd have is the potential of an over-zealous law enforcement officer hassling you, so be familiar with the Uniform Firearms Act.
§ 6102. Definitions.
"Firearm." Any pistol or revolver with a barrel length less than 15 inches, any shotgun with a barrel length less than 18 inches or any rifle with a barrel length less than 16 inches, or any pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun with an overall length of less than 26 inches. The barrel length of a firearm shall be determined by measuring from the muzzle of the barrel to the face of the closed action, bolt or cylinder, whichever is applicable.

Concealing it on your person would federally make it an aow.

Many people don't realize this.

The 26" oal is an arbitrary number they came up with as "to big to conceal" and is the only thing keeping these out of the aow category. They can also decide at anytime that there is no legit "sporting purpose " and make them destructive devices. So imo dont push it if you want this style of firearm to stay available.

I'm aware that the 26.5" length is specific to go just outside of AOW territory, but then how does simply concealing it change the design?
[I know I'm preaching to the choir here and the answer is "it doesn't", but they have more guns and lawyers than me so I'm still wrong]

Is a handgun Record of sale required for this or the Mossberg shockwave?

I have bought two, one in 12 gauge and one .410, each was transfered at a different FFL, both FFL holders said they are done a "firearms."
