While I left my 870 alone, I did mount a Knoxx Specops stock on my FN Police model around 10+ years ago. Notice the high cheek rest. For me, it reduced the felt recoil by around 60-70% no matter what was in the 12GA pipe. Since the cheek never left the cheek rest, was also easier to bring back to a new target with quick follow-up shots. The optic on it is an Eotech 552 - which was a group purchase from somewhere at a much reduced price. Just put the circle and dot over the target and you're good to go.
No problems ever encountered and no mtce required on anything except for cleaning the bore and wiping the exterior metal parts after periodically taking it for a walk. Sorry about the fingerprints in the picture but that was just from handling the firearm thirty minutes ago - all clean now.
Also change out the batteries out every couple of years...

Back from the dead just curious if the OP changed out his stock?
Do u have the reg size hogue stock or the shorty one? I got the 12" lop on my 590 and like it alot. Also funny to watch others shoot it and hit their nose or lip with it. I always tell them dont put your thumb over the top but they do anyways.
The 14" version. I actually busted my lip open a few years ago trying to shoot clays with a Winchester 1300 that had a 12" stock on it. If they have to move their thumb so they don't punch themselves in the face then maybe they should just take that as an indication that gun isn't for them. Shame on you for amusing yourself at the expense of others haha. Totally kidding, fuck those people.
I have a Knox spec op here you can have if you want it...has the powerpack with high cheep weld installed...
