Obtaining a LTCF in Jefferson County
Hello,
I'm looking to get my LTCF and would like to know how to go about the process. Do you need to physically go to the sheriff's office first to fill out an application or can it be done through the mail? Also, what type of questions are asked and how many/what kind of references do you need?
Thank you,

Here's an actual LTCF application. All PA counties use the same one.

You still have to go there in person where they will capture your image and signature digitally.

You go to the courthouse, lower front entrance. To the right is a table with a basket that has a stack of applications. Sit there and fill one out. Then go up to the security window and let the deputy know that you would like to apply for a carry license. He will check you through. You will need your drivers license or state issued photo ID, and $20.
The clerk in the sheriffs office will start a PICS call and type your info into a computer while she is on the phone with PICS. If she gets an approval she will ask you to sit in a chair in the corner for a picture, then you will sign an electronic thing.
She'll then print out the license, laminate it. You will hand over the $20, she will hand you a receipt if you want one, then you will walk out the door.
They have never called the references, but they still prefer that you write them on the application.
