With all the crap that is going on around the US with these dumb ass road blockers and terrorists (yes BLM, antifa and these stupid, violent "demonstrators" are terrorist groups in my eyes) I decided to get a handgun to keep in my truck all the time (with several spare mags full). I wanted a gun that if something happened and it got confiscated during an investigation I wouldn't be out a whole lot.
Well, a customer ended up with two Taurus G3's. One was a true purchase, the other he bid on it before he bought the other (a day later thinking he will probably be out bid). Well he wasn't so two G3's came to me to transfer to him.
Looked them over while logging them in and with the price point thought it might not be too bad a gun for the truck and met my cost criteria.
Offered to buy it from him and he said ok, he didn't need two of them.
The one I got was an OD frame with black slide. Shot it yesterday and I was pulling them to about the 7:00 position and down about an inch. I chalk that up right now to not really putting a lot of rounds down range and getting used to the gun. I did find that it has a pretty tight chamber. Some of my 9mm reloads would not chamber without a lot of force and so I know that I'll have to pay attention to the case sizing when I reload for this pistol. Factory ammo performed flawlessly (only shot 115 and 124 gr this time).
Other than that, it seemed to be a pretty decent handgun for under $300. Came with a 15 and 18 round magazine so I'll probably get another 18 round to give me 51 rounds in the truck fin case of an emergency.
