Moly-grease vs. Tetra grease?
The majority of installation instructions for the RRA 2-stage trigger that I have encountered recommend lubricating the various interacting surfaces with Moly-grease. I didn't have any at the time when I installed my the RRA 2-stage in my AR lower and single-shot lower for my Bohica, so I used some Tetra grease since it was handy. Unfortunately, I began to notice that the trigger on my AR felt a bit heavier and grittier after about 100 rounds. I greased up the trigger with more Tetra grease again and the feel of the trigger improved, but it still left me kinda surprised how quickly things had deteriorated.
If I switch to Moly grease as is suggested will I likely have to lubricate the trigger less frequently? Or is this something that I just have to get used to doing with these 2-stage triggers? Is Tetra grease even comparable to Moly grease?
Re: Moly-grease vs. Tetra grease?
Hose the trigger group out with lighter fluid. Then apply a light coat of oil and all your problems will be solved.
Really.

Really? Just oil?
Militec OK?
Re: Moly-grease vs. Tetra grease?
Yes.....and yes. Just get all the grease out first.

I ended up completely removing the trigger assembly since I wasn't able to get it as clean as I liked. It's back together now, lubricated with Militec. I hate to say it, but I almost think it's worse. I dunno.

No idea. What part of the RRA trigger assembly is the sear edge?
Stupid question, I know.
Re: Moly-grease vs. Tetra grease?
Nah, not stupid. Take your upper off and practice cocking and uncocking the hammer. DO NOT let the hammer fall into the receiver. Ease it down. Note where the hammer contacts the sear on the trigger. Now take it apart and check those two engagement surfaces.
Re: Moly-grease vs. Tetra grease?
Oh...and if they're rough....ask RRA to send another one.
