Re: AOW for concealed carry?
Here is the definition of "firearm" for the purposes of what you can carry with a LTCF
Quote:
"Firearm." Any pistol or revolver with a barrel length less
than 15 inches, any shotgun with a barrel length less than 18
inches or any rifle with a barrel length less than 16 inches, or
any pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun with an overall length of
less than 26 inches. The barrel length of a firearm shall be
determined by measuring from the muzzle of the barrel to the
face of the closed action, bolt or cylinder, whichever is
applicable.
Since an AOW is NOT a pistol, SBR, SBS, I am going to say that I think the answer is no.

Wouldn't that apply since the weapon in question is 16.5" overall?
Re: AOW for concealed carry?
for $725.00 you could buy two and a hacksaw . . . LOL
do it yourself

Not to my understanding since it says "pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun w/.....".
An AOW is none of the above.... it is an "AOW".
Re: AOW for concealed carry?

Yes, but that shotgun they have on there I think is actually a SBS, not an AWO - I think they have it mislabeled.
Take a look at it PaP and let me know your opinion - I've been debating this one with my roommate ;)
I say it's a SBS and needs a $200 tax stamp. He says that it's an AOW per the site.

I'm not sure what your saying.
That statute says "pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun"... meeting the under ___ inches (barrel or OAL).
A SBS and a SBR are "firearms" because they are "rilfes" and "shotguns" with a bbl and/or OAL length within the determining limits.
An AOW, is NOT a "pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun", by definition, therefor I don't believe it can be a "firearm" per 6106.
I could be wrong. But that's the way I'm reading it.
An SBS and SBR are permissible to carry concealed with an LTCF. I clarify because I was unclear if your post was questioning SBS/SBR's
Re: AOW for concealed carry?
Im gonna keep an eye on this one, as I think that Serbu is just a mean little bastard, and Ive had gumdrop dreams in my head of building my own version. Ballistics of accelerating a slug, or spread patterns of shot be damned, I want a 'pistol' that even 500 Alaskan shooters are scared of.:D

Sorry - I was wondering more about the NFA classification of that particular weapon. I have a hard time believing that a 12 gauge shotgun with a 6.5" barrel and an overall length of 16" would NOT be classified as a SBS and require the $200 tax stamp.
