Captive bolts being ones that don't spin, an example would be a carriage bolt. I tried that with this already except the sheet metal is too soft and it just spun the carriage bolts in the hole.

it says pistol so it is clearly taktikoool vs a normal ol' captive bolt which really doesnt do much at all, almost like that is the point of it.
i guess the question really is.
is streaker keeping his bolts captive in an old well in the basement?
New battery is installed as well as an Hour/Tachometer. Electric start works perfectly.
Nice score. I've got the 6500 version of that, labeled as a Troy Bilt, sans electric start. I used to run the whole house on it (within reason), before I got the 17kw Generac whole house. It serves as backup to the Generac, if SHTF and something ever would happen to it. Starts super easy and always worked well.
Will be moving. New place has solar and backup battery.
Sooo, I have a foolish question,
How do you store fuel to run the Generator lets say for 7 days?
Gasoline is quite short lived these days and you may have to swap it out once a year or so to ensure yours is not gone foul,
I would love to pick up a small diesel Generator as I feel that fuel storage and availability is easier,
Gas will last ok for a year. After that the sta bil will make it last longer.

I keep about 12 gal. (give or take) of gas on hand. I rotate it by using it in the lawn equipment and then replace it with fresh, so under normal use it doesn't sit around long. I have enough gas to run my generator for a couple of hours a day for a week. I don't feel good about only having that much on hand but for now it is what it is.
I really should have a propane generator, that's really the only way to go for long term fuel storage. In a real, extended SHTF situation, propane bottles are easier to steal than gas. A pair of bolt cutters and you can get into any hardware, grocery, quick mart, factory, warehouse, etc, propane storage cage. They all have to store it outside, enough said. Hell, my employer doesn't even lock up the cage. two guys could cut a hole in the fence and get 10 bottles of propane outside the fence in a few minutes.
Matter of fact, a vehicle converted to propane wouldn't be a bad idea either.
