Re: ATF Just Released Their Brace Ruling
Where are they going to get the manpower (and ammunition) to confiscate these firearms?

They won't go door to door. The law will force owners to "go underground" and be afraid to take your gun to the range. And heaven help you if you get caught with it or happen to use it in a defensive shooting. You will get the book thrown at you.
Either way, the gub wins.

It's like I have seen in Australia and New Zealand. They don't really care that much if you turn them in or destroy them. If they catch you with them, they send you to prison for longer than a murderer, shoot your dog, take everything you have. If you buy ammo for them you attract suspicion. You can't get parts for them or service them. You can't sell them, except on a black market loaded with police informants.

Or, your ex lady friend gets pissed at you and drops a dime.
Re: ATF Just Released Their Brace Ruling
A good reason to let your wimmin folk know about *some* pieces if necessary for defense, but maybe not ALL of your stuff!

I actually planned to SBR another firearm but since this ruling, I*m gonna see what happens in court. Worst case scenario, I pay $200 and don*t admit that the ATF has the power to change definitions. Best case scenario is braces are stocks and in common use, SBR*s are dropped from the NFA.
I'm not sure I see which of those makes it a bad idea to file for a free amnesty stamp, if your prints and photos are already in their database.

Or your shooting buddy is caught doing something he shouldn't, and wants to turn in somebody else so he gets to watch his kids grow up without intervening plexiglass. Plea deals are easier if you have disposable friends to throw into the woodchipper for the Feds.

If you're with a woman that you don't trust with your life, you may be with the wrong woman.
