Re: Scope leveliing kits...which one to buy and do you use one?
Ive used this method with very good results, a flashlight, plumbob and a torpedo level on a flat surface of the rifles action. a good rest is like Tiptons best gun vise is a huge help in leveling the action

The level in an iPhone actually works very well to level scopes. There's some good videos on Youtube.

I eyeball it unless it's a long range gun. Then I eyeball it and put a small junky level on the top turret (jury's still out if that makes any difference).

That's actually a great idea...never thought of that before.

I've tried most methods and always came back to a plumb bob at 100 yards and leveling the action. Unfortunately, you can't trust the turrets or even the rail to be perfectly square with the bore and you can get some small tracking errors out deep. This tool, however, has worked really well and it's my new go to.

As others mentioned Wheeler scope mounting tools are real good . They also make a Ring lapping tool which is a big plus for accuracy !
Re: Scope leveliing kits...which one to buy and do you use one?
Thanks all for the replies. I do have a level on my iPhone, and two small Wheeler levels. On my CZ, once the scope rings are in place, there is no flat service to place any sized level. I CAN level the scope if first the gun is leveled. I guess to do its right I will need a gun vice. The drop string is a great idea to confirm alignment. Again. -thanks all.

I use this. No bubble levels, it physically levels the scope to the rail.
