.....and agreed.I've always wanted one but I think the ship of spending big money on hobby items has sailed for me.The Marks are not getting any cheaper and the older I'm getting the more I find myself not wanting to spend money on things that I don't need.
I can understand paying more money for a firearm to admire, but I wouldn't spend more for a shooter unless I was highly competitive. I have a P229 Elite and Legion I bought for aesthetics that I rarely shoot. I would've got the regular model if I was going to range blast with it.
You beat me to it , the MK 23 is the only answer in that price range. and if you do not mind the correction it is hammer fired as are all the HK's based on the USP genre. which is why I love my USP and FN FNX. They can be carried cocked and locked 1911 style or DA safety on or off, if you are the type that dislikes safety's on handguns (GLOCK guys) you can simply ignore it and carry hammer down safety off
Out of those 3 ;listed, I'd go with the Dan Wesson
Buy a Desert Eagle.
Dan Wesson is a awesome American made 1911 with no MIM parts with great craftsmanship in it....I have 2 and they are worth it.
You can even find them around $1400 to $1600 depending where you look...
