Go ahead and smash that 40sw case you ran into the 357 die, and never think of doing
It again. It looks good, seems good, but having one explode in your hands will convince
You if I don*t.. my $0.02..

It just looks too short.
The die instructions ( RCBS) say it's OK to reform .40 and it will be short but suggest to just get .357 brass.
I had a .40 case on my bench and ran it through.
Sounds like you experienced a failure after doing so?
I have a K or better of once fired cases so not hurting for brass.
Thanks for your input.
I finished 860 rounds of 9mm today.
Busy day here.
1. I cleaned a bunch of new 308 dies for use on my T7.

4. Seperated 47 lbs of 556/223 range brass for cleaning from my stash of range brass, (that I shot).

5. Ran a 7/8" x 14 Tap through my MEC Marksman so I can mount my Mighty Armory FL 308 sizing die. There are no sloppy threads on a Mighty Armory Die so I had to remove the Powder Coating from the MEC's threads. The MA Die would not thread into the MEC.

Decapped, sized, and primed about 750 9mm cases today.
Got some mystery scrap from a friend tearing apart some industrial machinery. Smelted the smaller pieces. After melting looks like lead with a high tin content. Started melting around 600* and complete at just over 700* or so with no dross. Did a couple quick casts, filled out with BHN around 8, weight spot on. Have a chunk 60 lbs. or so to go. Need some new blades for the sawzall to cut it down.

Nice!
May I inquire on your choice of powder and charge with that particular bullet?
