Update:
No letter yet. I called the office, they told me that I'm in the approved pile and to bring $14. Woohoo!
I'm leaving work early and flying like an F14 to the courthouse. I'm skeptical but ecstatic.

Publicly eating crow here.
Good news is, I am now licensed to carry firearms!
Bad news is my reference actually did respond and I'm a jerk. I'm not sure when or how he did, but Martins office told me all that nonsense that I would be denied up until last week. I wonder if they misplaced it.
Good for you either way. Hopefully you will get squared away so you can be legal!
Any update on his post card mailing law suit?
Always pisses me off to hear about obviously decent law abiding people being made to jump through hoops by some arrogant government payroll stooges.
It will be a cold day in hell when I'd go hat in hand pleading with some county asshole for permission to exercise a constitutional right.
Screw em!
So what do we do, Capt? Just go without ltcf?
I'm not looking forward to getting my LTCF lol. Just moved to Monroe County (in Cresco) from NJ to escape the awful gun laws and enjoy some peace and quiet but I don't know anyone. I read something about having to enroll in a 1% income tax thing and then I can submit a sheet to prove that I'm enrolled, then I have to make friends with local people for 2 references. I was pretty bummed out that Monroe wasn't like other counties where people can receive their LTCF in 15-20 minutes. I'm hoping I can find some neighbors that are pro-gun and wouldn't mind vouching for me, I know there's a few houses in the area that are always shooting guns off so I'll have to figure out who those neighbors are. Either way, I'm really enjoying PA much more than NJ despite the longer commute to NYC.
