Today, Berks County communications received information about a wanted subject operating a black Audi sedan being operated by Brandon Slider. North Coventry Township Police (Chester County) informed Berks that Slider was in the process of being charged with a Robbery that occurred earlier in the day. The victim of the robbery indicated Slider was likely armed as he implied a handgun during the robbery. Slider was also wanted by State Parole and from Pottstown PD for fleeing and eluding.
The black Audi was involved in a police pursuit in the City of Reading before it fled westbound on 422. The Audi became disabled on the exit ramp to Rt. 183 where a BTPD officer located it. After BTPD located the vehicle, a perimeter was set up and outside resources were requested. BTPD had information that Slider was hiding inside of a structure on the farm located on Rt 183 and Van Reed Rd.
Due to Slider potentially being armed, and the violent nature of the alleged crime, the Berks County Emergency Response Team (BCERT) was requested. BCERT searched the farm and structures, and eventually located Slider in the top of a silo.
Slider was then taken into custody without incident.
