Got a 5-pointer yesterday afternoon. Couldn*t hunt last year due to sciatica, so I was very happy to get a buck this year.
Got him with a 75 yard shot from my T/C Contender handgun in 7-30 Waters.

Congrats to everyone who got a buck, I sat out all last Saturday and didn*t see a single deer. I may try more this coming week with buck and doe in.
I am tired. I've hunted Saturday through Saturday. Most days I was out 6+ hours. I'm not used to getting up before the sun anymore.
My shitter blind was successful for my friend's son as I posted elsewhere. I've seen no less than 10 deer every day I've been out (Monday was a 45 minute hunt due to the morning rain and doctor appointment) other than the very weird Thursday when I literally so no deer all day. I think it was the bright moon overnight that allowed them to be active all night.
I saw antlers on Tuesday after 5pm. I learned my lesson, I had my 8 power binoculars because they're lighter. Well, I couldn't count points at 160 yards because he was in the trees and it was too dark. I think he was legal but I wasn't going to take the chance. Other than that, I saw a spike opening day and the 4 pointer the previously mentioned boy shot as a junior hunter.
Tomorrow I'll be making some needed mods to the shitter-blind now that I've had more than a week of living in it. I need hooks and a couple of shelves. That 4'x4' floor gets pretty crowded, time to utilize some of the space above me. Should the upcoming week prove fruitless, I think I'll be filling my tag with a doe during flintlock.

Psyched
Thanks guys.
I'm still plugging away.
Have a few issues but still able to do what I love to do.
The knees and hips kicked my ass when I took my 3030 for a walk the first 2 days of buck.
This hunt is scheduled for 3 days. The terrain isn't too taxing from what I was told ( by his standards, ha).
It'll be interesting.
