I am scared, so I carry a gun

If you live in such fear that the only way to manage your fear is to carry a gun, that says more about you than it does about society.
My response:
People like you just do not get it. It is not about being scared shitless. It is about being prepared.
With respect to the possibility of getting a flat tire:
- Some people just assume it will never happen to them, or even if it does, it is not big deal. So they do nothing to prepare. They do not bother to have tools or spare tire in the car, or bother to verify they are there and working or bother to learn how to use them to change the tire. If they get a flat, they will totally wing it and hope for the best. Maybe they will be able to change their own tire. Maybe they will be able to contact someone to change it for them. They will not know until the day comes.
- Some people are a little more prepared. They at least join AAA and put that info in their phone, and if they get a flat, they hope their phone works, AAA answers, and AAA actually shows up in a reasonable period of time, no matter what time of day or what the weather is like or how busy they may be out changing other tires.
- Finally, some people prepare by equipping themselves to solve their own problem. They ensure they have a spare and check tire pressure regularly. They ensure they have the tools needed to change the tire and actually know how to use them. When the time comes, they are ready and will almost certainly be back on the road to their destination before either of the other two groups.
Are any of these people scared shitless of getting a flat tire? No. Is the probability of getting a flat tire fairly low? Yes. Do these groups of people have different attitudes about being prepared to deal with problems in life and being dependent on others to solve their problems? Definitely.

I question if that moron even has a CCP and if he does then why?

gives weight to the comments he is making, like it makes him/her some sort of authority on the topic.
"i'm a hunter and i think *incoherent antigun unconstitutional babble*"
"i'm a gun owner and i think *incoherent antigun unconstitutional babble*"
"i'm a doctor and i think murdering babies is fine"
opinions are like assholes.

Maybe he lives in a fucked up state like PA and wants to travel with it in his car (to the range only, I assume) with minimal issues.

Possibly.
Or maybe he has it as insurance for if the preventable shit ever hits the fan. In any event he if he truly has it he most likely got it for a reason that makes his life easier or safer in some way so his opinions are complete bullshit.
Like any tool from a flashlight to a firearm it’s always better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.
I take it this was from a different message forum.

Nevertheless, I understand that not everyone has that luxury to live in a safe area and they do what they have to.

Preparation happens on different scales.
Right now, my wife and I are earning as much money as we possibly can, in preparation for a future where our earnings ability and/or interest in working is severely limited or non-existent.

You (and your wife) are wise beyond your douchebaggery.
Seriously... good strategy!
Re: I am scared, so I carry a gun
I saw this video where a comedian said
"I carry a gun because I am compensating for a small penis.
I don't have one of those self defense sized dicks
My dick is way too small to slap the gun out of someones hand with"
