Importing a gun from Ireland.
Hello all,
I am wanting to import some shotguns from Ireland. I have a gun dealer in Ireland who can do this, I am wondering who i should contact for a FFL that can handle this sort of request? The guns have immense sentimental value, That is why i want to get them!
Thanks
James

Howaya James,
You can bring long guns back here yerself if you will be visiting, havta go to the local, and Main Barracks in the county they were licensed, explain what ya would like to do, and they will give ya a letter in yer hand so as no one on that side will bother ya, it will also getem off the books over there.
Then phone airline you are using, and tellem you will be checking firearms on your flight to America. When at airport you will be seeing airline clerk and Customs officer
and you will prob have the shortest wait to board and when landed for customs.
I might visit in November and do some "Shooting"

Actually it is a little more involved than stated above. You will need the BATFE Form shown below. You can find it in PDF Form on the ATF Firearms Website. Not really that involved and any good FFL should know his way around any glitches or delays.
