Bone stock, has fixed front sight and rear flip up on the Picatinny. Been looking at some red/green dots raised and a couple of short scopes that can take some rough handling. Was looking at the sig sauer romeo msr and the romeo 5.

What kind of distances are you shooting at?
I shot my m&p15t with a Burris 1.5-6x out to 100 yards. Naturally at 6x the entire time. The reticle on that scope isn't ideal for target shooting, but i think it is more intended for run and gun. Anyway, at 6x i was able to see out to 100 yards but not as clearly as i would like. Next time i go out, I'm bringing my 4.5-14x scope.
As for red/green dot, i have an ar9 with a holosun green dot. I have an astigmatism in both eyes, but was able to competently shoot off have at 25 yards. Much further than that and the dot becomes more of a blur over the target.

I have each of those red dots.
The "best" one will depend on your specific wants, but most people gravitate to the Romeo 5 for it's "shake awake" feature.
Admittedly, I wanted it for that reason, but in reality, the other one could easily be left on 24/7 and just change the battery every year or two.
I much prefer the flip up lens caps on the MSR to the worthless bikini covers on the Romeo 5.
The knob to turn on/choose brightness on the MSR is FAR too difficult to turn easily. That said, I leave mine on, so it's a non-issue.

If you want to change furniture and get a semi-custom look, these kits from Matrix Diversified are a decent value IF you actually want all the items that are included.
Best price I know of at the moment. several patterns in stock. If you were to buy all the items in basic black, it would cost more.

The only thing I want to change is the forestock to aluminum and the ability to mount a light, I want this mainly for the same thing I used my M4 for. Even after 4 years away from that it fits like an old glove.
Gotcha.
There are several drop in aluminum handguards for carbines with the front sight post.

Have at it.

Good video, will continue looking. Thanks
