Taking a chance on the Kimber K6S DASA

When it comes to revolvers we all hear how they don*t make them like they used to. The Smith And Wesson classic line is nowhere near the build quality of the originals, the new Pythons are problematic etc. etc.

I decided to take a gamble today and buy myself a Kimber K6S DASA. I got the 3 inch version in case I decide to carry it. Out of the box it*s smooth as can be and I can*t find any obvious machining marks or imperfections. The finish might appear scratched in the photos but it*s a brushed stainless. When I realized the cylinders had recessed chambers I started looking a little more closely. I was surprised to stumble upon one today in Elizabethtown and it followed me home.

I paid about what I would expect to pay for an older Smith And Wesson so hopefully it will be a worthy investment.

Does anyone here on the forum have one? I would love to get feedback from people who have used them. Thanks for looking.

Nice pistol. I have had (and have) some of their semi-autos (.45) and they make quality stuff. Have fun with it and shoot it a lot (LOL, as if you can find ammo...)

It does have some attractive and interesting features. Hammer spur is a bit odd though. My dream 'snubby' is a 3in Model 19 in factory nickle , but they run about 100 hens teeth. Even a 3in Model 66 will run 50.

If you would , can you post a pic with grips removed? I'd like to see if RB grips are possible , Thanx!

The trigger is what sealed the deal. Zero stacking in double action with an obvious wall if you like to hold it there before breaking through. I tend to pull my double action shots straight through though. Single action is like any other modern revolver coming in with a feel weight of about 3 pounds.

I found this link which shows the difference between the two models with the grip panels removed. If you still need it I*ll get an actual picture next time I have it out.

k6s are amazing revolvers, i have had the snub and 3inch models and was not disappointed with the fit, finish, trigger, size, sights, button cyl release (ruger and them got this right, esp for carry)

lately im into cheaper options so ive been on a taurus run - good enough for what im up to... back when i sold my k6s basically got 2 for 1 (taurus to kimber); but i understand the price difference. for that money i like my rhino more.

Yep...I bought one of the DASAs models too. A lovely revolver...

The design team on the k6s consulted a lot of really good revolver experts. Grant Cunningham is one of those experts amd he wrote about it in his blog years ago. They fixed a lot of the shortcomings of the ruger and S&W revolver designs. The k6s is an excellent revolver.

I have shot one and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Excellent action, remarkably precise and slim. I am a fan of revolvers and I had a lot of them...
