Just a few questions
I just got a handgun the other day and I want to get my LTCF. I live in Perry County, but i just moved here a few months ago (formerly from Union). Where exactly do I go and what exactly do I need?
I'm guessing the courthouse, but where in the courthouse, who do I ask for?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Just a few questions
Where can I obtain a hand gun permit?
Sheriff's Office, Perry County Courthouse Phone: 582-2131 extension 2277
Perry County Sheriff's Office
Sheriff
Carl Nace
Second Floor Courthouse
One Courthouse Square
New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania 17068
(717)582-2131
You will need to get a LTCF application from them, fill it out along with information on 2 references not related to you,
and return the completed form to them.
Standard fee is $25, some charge a little more, but I don't know about Perry.
Welcome to PAFOA!

Hey thanks for the speedy answer, really appreciate it.

Re: Just a few questions
The above is accurate. One thing to watch for is if you just moved to Perry Co. does your Drivers license reflect that yet? The Sheriff is pretty cool, the process is speedy and painless in Perry Co. Checkout the Deputy's gear, they all wear 1911's; I appreciate that they aren't armed with the ubiquitous Glock.

Re: Just a few questions
I would also agree with the above information, with the exception of the Sherriff being "pretty cool".
Nace is very much of the "if you're not a cop you're little people" persuasion.
Be very careful to not run afoul of him or any of the local or state police. You will regret it.
Perry county is very much a good ol boys network when it comes to cops.
Don't expect to get any sort of fair play or benefit of the doubt from him regarding your permit.
